Regenerative heat exchanger

Regenerative heat exchangers are used for regenerative heat exchange equipment. A solid filler is built in to store heat. Generally, refractory bricks and the like are used to form fire lattices (sometimes with metal wave belts, etc.). The heat transfer takes place in two stages. In the first stage, the hot gas passes through the fire lattice, transferring heat to the fire lattice and storing it. In the second stage, the cold gas is heated through the fire lattice and receives the heat saved by the fire lattice. These two phases alternate. It is common to use two regenerators alternately, that is, when hot gas enters one, cold gas enters the other. Often used in the metallurgical industry, such as the regenerator of steelmaking open hearth furnace. Also used in the chemical industry, such as air preheaters or combustion chambers in gas furnaces, regenerative crackers in man-made oil plants. Regenerative heat exchangers are generally used in applications where media mixing requirements are relatively low.
