Self-sufficient solar eco-aquatic housing estate

Michael Jantzen ( middot ) has all sorts of whimsy about house design. His latest demonstration of the Eco-Aquaponic House is a cylindrical steel structure that creates a small ecosystem for growth of plants and fish: feces produced by fish are used to compost plants. The building is equipped with rotatable glass and sun visors to suit all weather conditions. When the sun is hot, the sun visor covers to prevent overheating; in winter, the two insulated parts can protect animals and plants from cold.

The fish tank is located in the middle of the house, and the plant tray surrounds the inner wall of the building. Huge ducts are filled with insulating material that absorbs solar energy to regulate daylight temperatures.

A huge array of solar cells is organized into a solar tracking system to provide the energy needed for the house and the lighting of the fish tank. The house is precisely designed, and its solar tracking and sustainable system provides enough energy for the growth of plants and animals in the house to produce organic food.
