Inyo County, Eastern California wants to build solar projects

Brightsource Energy, a US-based company in the Gulf region, is working to obtain a government license to build a 500MW solar project in eastern Inyo County. The company KeelyWachs said that this solar project can create 1,000 construction jobs and 100 long-term jobs.

Wachs believes that the private land in the area is very suitable for building a solar project with a certain practical scale.

“This piece of land is owned by a family and they were granted rights of use as early as several years ago. This land was used as a ranch and was actually divided into several parts,” said Wachs. “There used to be a plan to build a home in the past. District, in fact, if you are above the land, you can see the grid built to build a residential area."

Conservationists in the desert area have been criticizing the size and location of Brightsource's Ivanpah project in Mojavej (a desert in the southwestern United States of America). Wachs stated that Brightsource's solar development project in Inyo County will not have much impact on the county. The solar project requires that the solar boiler on the tower be surrounded by a number of closely spaced mirrors to generate energy.
